Electrical & Embedded Systems Engineer

We have an immediate opening for an experienced electrical engineer with skills in embedded firmware and hardware to join our fast-growing high-performance team in Dallas. You will be working for a leading technology developer of advanced and innovative wireless power system solutions in exciting emerging markets and new applications. Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality structured microcontroller software for wireless power system solutions
  • Develop prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraints
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams of design, test and production engineers to help bring products to market
  • Support customer product development by modifying and testing reference design firmware to meet customer specifications
  • Create and maintain technical documentation such as application notes and data sheets
  • Innovate

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Science discipline and 4 years of experience in C/C++ development, or
  • Master’s degree with 2 years of experience with embedded firmware development for 32-bit ARM controllers
  • 2 years of experience working with real-time operating systems
  • Experience with prototype development, bring-up, debugging and functional verification

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Strong software design and development skills
  • 1 year of experience with using software stacks for NFC, Bluetooth, USB, USB-PD
  • Experience with writing drivers for and implementing data transfer mechanisms over I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, LIN
  • Experience with designing simple graphical user interfaces (GUI) in Windows or Linux
  • Experience developing and delivering AUTOSAR compliant software for embedded devices (helpful but not mandatory)
  • Understanding of wireless power systems (helpful but not mandatory)
  • Analog and Power circuit understanding with knowledge of Digital design
  • Understanding of design for fault tolerance and reliability
  • Schematic capture in Altium Designer
  • Experience with PCB layout in Altium Designer
  • Proficient with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, electronic loads, spectrum/network analyzers and other common lab instruments
  • Ability to use soldering equipment and have knowledge of hand assembly with SMT devices
  • Ability to engage directly with Tier 1 customers and interact with global field application engineering staff for creating design solutions and troubleshooting system design problems
  • Strong problem-solving skills – self-starter driving problems to resolution
  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Strong presentation and training skills
  • Strong work ethic with willingness to learn and share ideas
  • 25-30% travel
